Salsa de Arbol, spicy, smokey and delicious! Another one of Carmen's incredible homemade salsa recipes from Zacatecas, Mexico
Ingredients
Instructions
- Seal the chiles in tin foil (this will limit the spicy smell) and roast in a pan alongside the tomatillos and garlic over medium high heat; keep pressing the chilis down and flipping the foil packet for 5-7 minutes (until chiles are blackened and crisped) and then remove from the pan.
- Place a lid on the pan and continue cooking the tomatillos and garlic (turning every so often) for ~10 more minutes until blackened.
- Place the chiles, tomatillos and garlic into a blender with the water and salt and blend for 2 minutes until completely puréed - enjoy!
