Sesame Seared Tuna

I've been sheltering in place at my aunt's house on the Florida coast, so we've been lucky to have tons of fresh seafood around! This is my aunt's sesame seared ahi tuna, such a delicious healthy appetizer

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Dry the tuna steak with a paper towel; lightly coat it with sesame oil and then sprinkle on both sides with sesame seeds.
  2. Heat a dry skillet on high heat (make sure it is hot!) and then add the tuna steak; pan sear for 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Slice into bite sized pieces and serve with a sauce made of ponzu mixed with a little water, scallions and sesame seeds (if you can't find store bought ponzu you can make it by mixing lemon, soy sauce and water) - enjoy!
